This is an original necklace design I came up with and it is inspired by the 2008 exhibition "Ornament as Art: Avant-Garde Jewelry" at The Museum of Fine Arts Houston.  I attended a jewelry workshop at the museum and created a brooch using a slide mount as the base starting product.  One idea led to another as I thought about the exhibit I had seen.  Necklaces seem so universal and I wanted to create something that my teenagers would also wear.  I have gone to work using anything and everything because I love to recycle!  My teens and their friends are going nuts over the necklaces made from their favorite energy drinks and Starbuck's products, guys and girls alike.  Each unique composition utilizes a combination of found objects, vintage photos or recycled cans.  There are no two pieces exactly alike!

I have used soft drink cans for some necklaces........

........beer cans for others..... ...you name, I'll make a necklace out of it if I can!

These necklaces are made with cans from energy drinks... a favorite with teenagers!
